HoldOn Together is a companion tool for families. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the HoldOn Together website at holdontogether.com, any waitlist or contact forms we make available, and the HoldOn Together mobile app, including beta or preview versions and both its memory support and visit coordination features.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use our products, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Contact and account information: your name, email address, login credentials, and messages you send to us.
- Memory support content: recipient names, family member names, relationship labels, emergency contact phone numbers, helper email addresses, home-related information, rooms, written stories, notes, and similar content you choose to enter.
- Photos, audio, and media: photos you upload or paste, voice recordings (including family voice messages and visit recordings), and related media metadata.
- Visit coordination content: short summaries or notes you provide about upcoming appointments, uploaded medical reports and lab results, questions generated or edited by you and your family, visit audio recordings made with consent, AI-generated visit summaries, and follow-up action items.
- Location information: if you choose to enable location features in the app, HoldOn Together may collect foreground location data while the app is open. Closing or locking the app stops location logging until you reopen it.
- Device permissions and local data: camera, microphone, photo library, clipboard images when you choose to paste, and local cached files used for offline access.
- Subscription and purchase information: if paid plans are enabled, app stores and billing providers may process subscription information associated with your account.
- Technical information: device type, operating system, app version, basic log data, and hosting or security logs.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- provide, maintain, and improve HoldOn Together;
- create and sync care-space, room, memory, and visit content;
- enable photo, voice, helper, recording, and location-based features you choose to use;
- generate AI-powered content such as suggested visit questions and plain-language visit summaries inside HoldOn Together;
- respond to support requests and communicate with you;
- protect the security, integrity, and reliability of our products;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. AI Processing
HoldOn Together uses artificial intelligence to generate suggested questions before doctor visits and to create plain-English summaries of visit recordings. To do this, relevant content you provide (such as your written summary, uploaded documents, and visit audio) may be sent to third-party AI service providers for processing.
We select AI providers that offer data processing agreements and do not use your content to train their general models. AI-generated content is stored as part of your account data and is subject to the same protections described in this policy.
5. How Information Is Stored
HoldOn Together uses third-party infrastructure providers to operate our services. This may include services such as Google Firebase for authentication, database, file storage, and hosting, as well as Expo services for app build and update infrastructure. Some content may also be cached locally on your device for offline access and media playback.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- with service providers who help us operate our products, including AI processing providers used by HoldOn Together;
- with other users you authorize, such as invited helpers, family contributors, or family members you share visit summaries with;
- with Apple, Google, payment, or subscription providers if paid features are enabled;
- when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.
7. Your Choices
- You can choose whether to provide optional photos, audio, stories, documents, and location access.
- In HoldOn Together, you choose whether to record a visit. Recordings are only made when you actively start a recording.
- You can decline device permissions, although some features may not work without them.
- You can contact us to request account assistance, correction, or deletion of your information.
8. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate our products, support users, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you request deletion, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to delete or de-identify the requested information, subject to technical, legal, and backup limitations.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
HoldOn Together is designed for adult caregivers and families. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
